Synopsis:
This movie is a rare bird: part documentary, part classic anime. It alternates between live-action interviews with confessed otaku (complete with digitized voices and blanked-out faces) and a continuing animated story about a pair of otaku who defy society to become "Otakings" and run their own business.
Availability:
Available subtitled through AnimEigo.
Review:
Extremely silly and a wonderful portrait of what it means to be an obsessed fan, this is a must-see just so you can be frightened at how terribly close to home these losers are. A real delight, but like Project A-ko, is aimed more at the diehard fans than anything else.
